its beginning to look a lot like christmas….

Are you kidding me?  Snow?  Now???

We are at the ranch and woke up to a winter wonderland!!

My toes are cold!!!!  Note to self:  Today is not a flip flop day……

oh those cowboys…

A cowboy, who just moved to Wyoming from Texas, walks into a bar and orders three mugs of Bud. He sits in the back of the room, drinking a sip out of each one in turn. When he finishes them, he comes back to the bar and orders three more.
The bartender approaches and tells the cowboy, “You know, a mug goes flat after I draw it. It would taste better if you bought one at a time.”
The cowboy replies, “Well, you see, I have two brothers. One is in Arizona, the other is in Colorado. When we all left our home in Texas, we promised that we’d drink this way to remember the days when we drank together. So I’m drinking one beer for each of my brothers and one for myself.”
The bartender admits that this is a nice custom, and leaves it there.
The cowboy becomes a regular in the bar, and always drinks the same way. He orders three mugs and drinks them in turn.
One day, he comes in and only orders two mugs. All the regulars take notice and fall silent. When he comes back to the bar for the second round, the bartender says, “I don’t want to intrude on your grief, but I wanted to offer my condolences on your loss.”
The cowboy looks quite puzzled for a moment, then a light dawns in his eyes and he laughs.
“Oh, no, everybody’s just fine,” he explains, “It’s just that my wife and I joined the Baptist Church and I had to quit drinking.”
“Hasn’t affected my brothers though.”

wacky weather…

We woke up to snow this morning…..and yes, that is disappointment you hear in my voice letters….but I was so happy that Jimmy and his buddy, Nathan made it safely…here they come!!

That means the treadmill, eliptical, weights and all the crap  awesome exercise equipment is here too!!  So, I guess that means that even when  it is raining….I now have no excuse.

So we decided to take a spin on the Artic Cat out into the Caribou National Forest … but then we got in a pickle.  And I had no camera, but you simply have to trust me….See the farthest mountain there near the top?

Well, that, my suspicious friends, is where the battery went dead….it really does look farther .. but we figured that it was a 5 mile walk back to the ranch.  When we were on the top of that hill we could see our house…but that didn’t do much for morale.  So we walked….through the creepy, HAILING, forest all the way back to the ranch.  Thankfully for all of us…I had my sense of humor intact.  (Jimmy wasn’t as thankful…hmm…)

There had been so much rain that the roads have some “issues” out here.  We are having our own little mini landslides!

Looks like I got a LOT of work to do…….(after dinner…but then it will be bath time…and jammie time…sooo, maybe tomorrow…

back in the saddle…

Ok, not so much saddle, but I did make it back to the ranch.  Last night I got to the ranch at about 9:30pm….creepy time…stayed up until midnight and  had the hardest time trying to go to sleep.

This morning I woke up ready to rock and roll!  That is code for clean….but first I had to peek outside and get some pics…..remember…it was last month when we took pictures of about 5 feet of snow….now…

      not so much!

Looks like the garage made it without any snow damage.

But it looks like it’s about to rain…..again…

BUT…..before I go….check this out!!  My neighbors heard me whining and brought me a little something….since Jimmy is driving our truck up here from Phoenix…….I’VE GOT WHEELS!!!!  WOO HOOO!!! MANY THANKS, CLYDE AND REA!!

Tomorrow I might just have to swing into town…  (that’s how I talk now) … maybe chat with the locals, grab the mail….and….well, then I might come back and nap.  It’s a rough life here…just me and the elk, who by the way are thoroughly enjoying eating our grass….(grrrr)
