praise and more praise…

When is the last time you caught someone doing something great?  What did you do?  Did you tell them?

Most of us are caught doing something wrong, whether by our spouse, boss or sometimes even our kids!  But when you see someone doing something right, praise them right there on the spot!  Don’t wait because waiting will take away the impact.  Tell them right there and right then what a wonderful job they are doing.

Psalm 103:1-5 says, “Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.  Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits – who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you will love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”

Start your day by praising God.  Try praising him for one full minute each day without stopping.  Then at the end of the week, see how much it has strengthened your heart and brought you closer to Him.

With the holidays  getting closer,  we need to have a heart full of thanks for those around us and for the blessings that God has given us.  And don’t forget to thank him for the prayers that were answered as well as our dreams that never quite came true.
