a wife’s diary VS a husband’s diary….oh how very different..

Wife’s Diary:
Tonight,  I thought my husband was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a nice  restaurant for dinner. I was shopping with my friends all day long,so I thought  he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment on it.  Conversation wasn’t flowing, so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we  could talk. He agreed, but he didn’t say much.
I asked him what was  wrong; He said, ‘Nothing..’ I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He  said he wasn’t upset, that it had nothing to do with me, and not to worry about  it. On the way home, I told him that I loved him. He smiled slightly, and kept  driving. I can’t explain his behavior. I don’t know why he didn’t say, ‘I love  you, too.’
When we got  home, I felt as if I had lost him completely, as if he wanted nothing to do with  me anymore. He just sat there quietly, and watched TV. He continued to seem  distant and absent. Finally, with silence all around us, I decided to go to bed.  About 15 minutes later, he came to bed. But I still felt that he was distracted,  and his thoughts were somewhere else. He fell asleep. I cried. I don’t know what  to do. I’m almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else.  My life is  now a disaster.
Husband’s Diary:
A five putt!  Who the heck five putts?

Why I can’t watch ‘Hunger Games’…

Ok, before you get all hot headed, know that this isn’t necessarily a movie review…because I haven’t seen the movie. This is just me telling you why I cant see the new blockbuster movie, Hunger Games.

I will say that I have read many reviews on the movie, and honestly there are MANY positive reviews out there, in fact,  I think there are more positive reviews than negative ones.  Even Focus on the Family has put out a list of questions for parents to discuss with their children after viewing the movie.

But … several years ago, God placed a verse on my heart and I try (and yes, fail soo many times) to live out that sweet command that our gracious Lord gave me, each day.

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things

The last part of the next verse says, ‘..these do, and the God of peace will be with you.’

People, I need God’s peace. I do not need to be ‘entertained’ by something I don’t believe in. I, personally, can’t go from my morning prayer time to an afternoon movie that doesnt line up with my daily walk with Jesus.  He has told me to think on things that are pure, lovely and just.

Now understand something….this also includes tv shows and music I find myself listening to.  I want Him to fill every part of my life….and mind….

No, I’m not trying to be a super-christian. I am just trying to live a life of peace and a life filled with joy and sometimes I have to tune out some areas so I can faithfully walk with God.

Christ wants us to be set apart from the world, so we can be a light to others that are living in spiritual darkness. Being “in” the world also means we can enjoy the things of the world, such as the beautiful creation God has given us, but we are not to immerse ourselves in what the world values.

Everyday is a new chance for me to start over and try to live a life worthy of His calling.  And as Joyce Meyer says, “I’m not where I want to be, but thank God I’m not where I used to be!”

(You can read a great article from her ministry page HERE.)

So now I hope you can see that I am trying struggling DAILY to be all that God would want me to be.

Remember WWJD?  It’s something to think about….

a literal..super bowl…..

Ok, my friends.  Super Bowl is almost here….and here’s what I know about it.

It’s football.  There are two teams.  There are great commercials.  There is food.

That’s pretty much it.  So……………..with that in mind, I am sending you to another site for a great recipe!  Who doesn’t like a bowl of Chex Mix?  How about a bowl made of Chex Mix?   Here, my friends, is a different take on that at www.framedcooks.com
