heart of my hearts…

This post was originally written last year, but it is a favorite series of mine and I thought, since we do live in a troubled time…it is necessary to see it again…I will continue the series for the next few days..

The battle lines are drawn.  God and His people are on one side and Satan and his demons are on the other.  We, as christians, have to be prepared for a daily onslaught of arrows.

First Peter 5:8 warns us, “Be sober, be vigilant because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” We’ve put on our Belt of Truth or Knowledge of God and now we need to put on our Breastplate of Righteousness.

The Bible says that when we become christians we are immediately equipped with the righteousness of Christ.  Our breastplate signifies that we are protected by His righteousness! When Satan points out all our faults and defects to the Lord, God says, “I don’t see them that way…I see them through my Son, Jesus Christ.”

2 Corinthians 5:21, “For He hath made Him [Jesus] to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.”

Since we have this wonderful gift of righteousness then our lives should be changed!  Changed by the power of God!  We have to stand apart from this world because of His love and truth.  In our flesh, it is impossible to be righteous….otherwise Jesus wouldn’t have had to die on the cross for our sins. BUT, we can wear our armor consistently and feel protected from the evil one!

Our breastplate protects our heart.  And in our heart are emotions and feelings that need daily safeguarding. If we don’t  have our breastplate firmly in place then Satan can toss slanderous accusations that can penetrate our minds and emotions that can injure our spiritual walk!

Where is your heart?  What is protecting it today?  Did you put on your armor?  Put it on now….
