Here is a verse that shines a BRIGHT light on our life! For the person with the cheerful heart, life is a continual banquet! It shows an image of a person that continually celebrates life and does so with a smile.
And then there are those with a sour outlook on life, where everyday is NOT a celebration. They dread getting out of bed and dread each day and whatever it holds for them. We’ve all been there from time to time. I, myself, love a good pity party but that is not how God wants us to live.
Sometimes we are just waiting for our ‘miracle’. It could be lifting that illness, or finding a new job, or thinking that if we only had more money we could finally have a cheerful heart.
Or just maybe God wants us to live and be the miracle instead. Your circumstances might remain the same but you can decide to have a cheerful heart! Life is a choice and how we react to our problems is the choice that we are left with.
Now….wait a minute. I am not trivializing anyones problems. There is a time for weeping and grieving. Even Jesus said that in the world we will have trouble. (John 16:33) But to ‘take heart’ for He has overcome the world! THAT makes me cheerful!!
And when we are cheerful, life takes on a whole different look. We can manage our stress, improve our looks (smile, my friend!) and people will prefer our company!! The beginning to being cheerful is thankfulness and gratitude to God. Begin by thanking Him for your health, your home, your job, your family, your food, your clothes and your house! The list goes on and on!! As you begin being thankful, you’ll see that God will be bigger in your heart and your perspective on life will start to change.
