in memoriam…

With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person, which almost went unnoticed last week.   Larry LaPrise, the man who wrote “The Hokey Pokey”, died peacefully at age 93.   The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin.  They put his left leg in.  And then the trouble started.

  1. BAHAHAHAhahahahahahahaha oh my gosh I LOVE IT! You DO know that my alma mater, Virginia Tech (go Hokies!!), has a Hokie Bird for a mascot and at every football game – EVERY GAME – at the end of the 3rd quarter, the tuba players run into the endzone and the band plays the Hokie Pokie and everybody stands up and dances!!

Oh yes we do — we do it loud and we do it proud!!

There is a home game on Saturday and I will video it. It deserves to be shared with the world. It’s just that fabulous.
